Stucco plasterer’s Fee Costs

If you need a plasterer, you will of course want to know what it will cost you before the work is done. In this situation, it would be wise for you to ask for an estimate/quote. Often this can be arranged via the Internet or you can call. You tell them what needs to be done and they can give you an estimate immediately. The plasterer can also visit you in advance so that he can see exactly what needs to be done. To save you time and money, we offer this service completely free of charge!

How much does a plasterer charge?

The price you will need to pay for the services of a (stucco) plasterer depends on several factors. A stucco plasterer can charge a fee of $5, but also, for example, $20 per square meter. The exact cost usually depends on the size of the area and whether, for example, several different areas need to be plastered. Please note that a price charged by a plasterer can be based on a fixed amount per square meter or on an hourly rate. It is always advisable to discuss this in detail with the plasterer of your choice.

Decisions that determine the fee charged by a plasterer

Several choices can further influence the price.

Option 1: The type of patch

As stated earlier on this page, the type of stucco work to be done largely determines the price. In this respect, we differentiate between, among others, putty work, stucco that can be wallpapered and sprayed, as well as decorative plaster. If you decide to spray with Spack, you should keep in mind that these are normally done in white. The price is then between $6 and $13 per square meter. If you want this type of plaster in color, there will be an extra charge. This can result in a fee between $7 and $14 per square meter.

Other possible finishes are stucco that can be wallpapered and sprayed stucco. Although both types of execution are in principle equally expensive, there are significant differences. For example, stucco that can be wallpapered is only suitable for subsequent application of wallpaper and cannot be painted. If you want to paint, ready to paint stucco is certainly the choice you should opt for.

Are you seeking for a way to further enhance your wall’s structure? In this case, you can opt for a decorative plaster. There are three different types of decorative plaster on the market today, of which rustic plaster and smoothing plaster are the most popular. Rustic plaster is a decorative plaster characterized by a fine grain structure with a thickness between 1.5 and 1.8 mm. The grain thickness of the filler plaster varies from 1 to 2.5 mm. The third and last decorative plaster, which has a somewhat coarser structure, is Granol. The grooves in this type of plaster vary between 3 and 4 mm.

Option 2: Wall or ceiling plaster?

A second option that directly affects the cost is the difference between a wall and a ceiling plaster. Plastering a ceiling usually costs you about $7 per square meter more compared to plastering a wall.

Option 3: The size of the area to be plastered

A third option that has a great influence on the price a plasterer will charge is the size of the surface. The larger the surface, the lower the price per square meter.
